[In congruence with Calcutta University Notification No. C/319/Online Admission, dt.29.05.2014, CS/958/Adm.(Cir.), dt.29.05.2014 and Government Press release No. Press 1/Edu(T)/14, dated 29.05.2014 and G.O. No. 233-Edn-(T)/10M-48/14 dated 29.05.2014]

It is notified for general information of all concerned that the Admission Process to the 1st Yr. undergraduate (B.A., B.Sc. and B.Com.) courses, 2014-15 will start from 4th June, 2014 (from 6-00 p.m.) and will close at 12-00 noon on 16/06/2014. Candidates must apply ON LINE through the college website: www.dacollege.org followed by payment of Rs.100.00 at the specified branches of Axis Bank.

While merit position of individual candidates and the detailed merit list will be available on the college website on 26th June, 2014 after 02-30 p.m., the candidates shall be admitted on and from 30th June, 2014 as per Merit Lists to be published prior to the dates of admission in individual subjects/courses


Admission rules for candidates from Vocational Stream & Open School

Such candidates are advised to contact the Principal between 05/06/2014 and 10/06/2014 before filling in application form online.

Minimum Eligibility Criteria for Admission to UG Courses, 2014-15

Candidates who passed 10+2 examination or its equivalent examination in 2011 and onwards (i.e., in 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014) are eligible to seek admission to 1st year B.A./B.Sc./B.Com [General (Pass)/ Honours (Advance) / Major] courses provided he/she has also passed in English having full marks not less than 100.

For General (Pass) Courses

Passed 10+2 level examination from recognized Board/Council AND also passed in English having full marks not less than 100

For Honours (Advance) Courses

  • Passed in English having full marks not less than 100
    AND

  • Obtained at least 50% marks in aggregate (average marks of best four subjects excluding Environmental Studies/Education if it is compulsory subject) AND at least 45% marks in the subject or related subject at the 10+ 2 level
    OR

  • Obtained at least 55% marks in the subject or related subject
    OR

  • Obtained 50% marks in aggregate (average marks of best four subjects excluding Environmental Studies/Education if it is a compulsory subject) in case the candidate has not studied the subject in his/her previous qualifying examination (10+2 level Exam) provided all other criteria are satisfied

For candidates belonging to SC /ST Categories

  • Passed English having full marks not less than 100 AND

  • Obtained at least 40% marks in aggregate (average marks of best four subjects excluding Environmental Studies/Education if it is a compulsory subject)

  • At least 40% marks in the subject or related subject at the 10+ 2 level
N.B. : If the subject ‘Environmental Science’ is studied as an elective subject of 100 marks, it can be taken into account for the purpose of determining the aggregate marks.

Norms for admission to the General (Pass) Courses (Through Merit Lists only)

The following general rule shall be followed for admission to the General (Pass) Courses through merit lists:

Candidates from streams other than Commerce must pass in Mathematics at the 10+2 level.
Total Marks obtained in best four subjects**
** Marks in compulsory Environmental studies/Education shall not be taken for calculation of aggregate. If the subject ‘Environmental Science’ is studied as an elective subject of 100 marks, it can be taken into account for the purpose of determining the aggregate marks
